Fix, style, save

Fix words and timing in a simple list, split or merge lines, and pick one of three styles. Save to Photos, or share the subtitles as an .srt file.

Three styles that work.

Subtitle for the classic look: white text on a soft box. Reel for short videos: big words, a few at a time. Classic: yellow text with a black outline, like on good old DVDs. You choose the position and size, and what you see is what you get.

Many subtitle apps send your video to their servers and ask for the right to use it. Undertekst does it all on your phone: the speech is transcribed here, the subtitles are burned in here, and nothing is uploaded. No account, no ads, no tracking.

Apple's speech recognition is built in and works right away. For higher quality, download a Whisper model (216 MB to 947 MB) in Settings. The model is the only thing the app ever downloads, and it sends nothing back.
